New and Notable 161

IIS 7.0/Longhorn Server
- ScottGu announces that IIS 7.0 Ships with a Go-Live License. His post lists the numerous features that IIS 7 has in the recent Beta 3 of longhorn Server over those in Vista. I have been using Longhorn Server quite a bit the last 6 months and it is quite compelling
Orcas/Workflow/WCF
- Jason announces that the .NET Framework 3.5 Beta 1 Framework available on MSDN for immediate download here.
- Mike Taulty starts to detail the changes in Workflow for Orcas Beta 1 and specifically WorkflowServiceHost, the centerpiece of WF/WCF Integration
- He also talks about Orcas Workflow: wsHttpContextBinding and netTcpContextBinding
- Meanwhile, Christian has a must-read post: When you think things are not possible: WCF duplex callbacks through NATs and firewalls - safe and secure
- The Orcas Beta 1 Samples for WCF and WF are here
Entity Framework/Orcas
- The ADO.NET Entity Framework has been cut from Orcas. They don't want to use that direct statement but Frans does and rightfully so
- In the meantime, if you are using EDM, you probably want this bug fix for the EDM Wizard
I'm rocking out to Street Life by Roxy Music from the album Stranded (Remastered)
