New and Notable 214
Too much work to do today but wanted to make sure to note with sadness the last edition of Mike Gunderloy's The Daily Grind. Mike set an impeccable standard for the community and will be missed (in the Microsoft world) but be sure to read his ongoing Fresh Cup. And, Happy New Year! Maybe I can resolve to be more regular about the New and Notables ( I have been around as long but nowhere near prolific).
Software Architecture
- Pat Helland has his latest thought provoking piece: Durability is In the Eye of the Beholder. Have to digest this one.
IT/Software Development
- Brad Abrams in his blog and an article, Where's i-Technology Headed in 2008? posts his thoughts on where IT technology is going. I totally agree with his User experience reaches the Enterprise and "start efforts to build UX centric applications that increase worker productivity, reduced transaction costs and increase pull through as the UX meme of the consumer facing world leaks into the enterprise." That's what we have done with our UX practice.
